Sam Smith

Sam Smith is a Sales Development Representative at Big Think Capital who brings a strong background in finance, entrepreneurship, and relationship-building to the team. Sam gained valuable professional experience through an internship in private wealth management, where he developed insight into financial strategies and client relationships. He also served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Human Ecology, where he led a class of 30 students on how to effectively manage their finances throughout college. Additionally, Sam interned at Murphy Business Sales, gaining hands-on experience working directly with business owners and entrepreneurs while developing a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business.

Originally from New Jersey, Sam attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, proudly representing the Badgers with his “On Wisconsin” spirit. Outside of his professional pursuits, Sam has always been passionate about basketball, a sport that has shaped his leadership and competitive mindset. He was a three-year varsity player in high school, earned All-Conference honors, and served as team captain during his senior year. His dedication on and off the court reflects the same teamwork, discipline, and drive that he brings to Big Think Capital.
